Yeswelder 4 Arc Sensor Auto Darkening Welding Helmet

Yeswelder Auto Darkening Welding Helmet is what you should get if you want to own a welding helmet that provides comfort, improved welding performance, and safety. Specifically, this product excels in TIG welding, MIG welding, and Arc welding purposes. Its most salient features are a 3.93''x3.66'' auto-darkening viewing panel, a great shade range, a grinding feature, 4 arc sensors, and a true color view with 1/1/1/2 optical clarity.

The way that the manufacturer designed this product is excellent. It covers the face and some parts of the head, the jaw, the upper forehead, and the upper part neck near to the chin. Also, the shape of the welding helmet is ergonomic. It fits easily on the head and doesn't wobble. With that being said, there's a high degree of safety and comfort in this product.

Welding hues are highly visible with the wide viewing panel with true color and 1/1/1/2 clarity. Moreover, the weld line will be very easy to follow. It's easier to avoid mistakes and determine the welding depth. Moreover, the auto-darkening and grinding feature allow the user to make precise adjustments without hurting the eyes.

PROS AND CONS

  • Allows the user to see welding colors easily
  • Great for TIG welding, MIG welding, Arc welding, and Plasma welding
  • Covers the face and other parts of the head that's commonly exposed to heat when welding
  • Easily drains the batteries

Backyard's Rating:

Antra Wide Shade Range Auto Darkening Welding Helmet

The Antra Wide Shade Range Welding Helmet goes toe to toe with the previous product. However, we decided to put it second because it's not that great for overhead welding. Though having such drawbacks, this product is nevertheless great. This product's great features are its lightness, versatility, wide shade range, redundant arc sensors for optical clarity, versatility, and a fast auto darkening feature.

This product doesn't really fit comfortably on the head. However, we love that it doesn't hurt the neck due to its light build. The 4 arc sensors prevent the constant offset of flashing while welding and makes welding less time-consuming since there's no need to take periodic pauses. Antra-wide shading is great for TIG welding, MIG welding, Plasma cutting, welding, and Arc welding.

PROS AND CONS

  • Great prevents the offset of flashing
  • Lightweight helmet
  • Uses solar power aside from batteries
  • Great budget welding helmet
  • Fully auto darkening lens
  • Good for plasma cutting
  • Not great for overhead welding
  • The viewing panel isn't very wide

Dekpro Auto Darkening Welding Helmet for TIG , MIG, and Arc Welding

The Dekpro Welding Helmet looks very attractive, and It features a very colorful coating made out of white and orange hues that's very glossy. With that being said, get this product if you're sick of using plain-looking welding helmets. Nevertheless, don't think that this product only looks great. Dekpro Welding Helmet works great too. Its notable features are a very responsive auto-darkening feature, 4/9-13 shade range, angular dependence for better optical clarity, and a very balanced build.

This welding Hood isn't that light or comfortable on the head. However, it has this distinct feel when worn that doesn't hurt the neck or the temple. Moving the head from side to side and up and down is very easy. In fact, the user won't feel restricted and all. For this reason, the Dekpro Welding Helmet is just great for overhead welding in our opinion.

The angular dependence feature allows for great optical clarity even if the shade range isn't that expansive. Also, the auto-darkening feature triggers without delays and is unaffected by external lights. Flashing happens sometimes but isn't that bothersome. Moreover, this product allows the user to see green, blue, and white welding colors clearly.

PROS AND CONS

  • Not necessarily light or comfortable but doesn't hurt the neck when worn
  • Angular dependence feature that's great for difficult welding positions
  • Looks very catchy
  • Auto darkening filter
  • Adjustment knobs are heard to grab if you're wearing gloves
  • Not that great for heavy industry-grade welding projects

Backyard's Rating:

Tacklife Professional Welding Helmet

If you're looking for a very hardy welding helmet, then Tacklife Professional Welding Helmet might be what you need. This welding helmet has a very robust build made out of PA material, and it can greatly withstand heat and impact. The manufacturer didn't make this product feel flimsy and heavy on the neck and head. This product's salient features are 1/1/1/1 optical clarity, non-distorted arc welding view, and free replacement parts.

A concerning thing about this product is that its performance doesn't pair up with its build. The viewfinder is large and the optical clarity is great. However, the auto-darkening feature doesn't respond against flashing well—moreover, the adjustment knob and difficult to grab. The shade range is also a bit poor.

PROS AND CONS

  • A very durable and heat resistant welding helmet
  • Perfect for arc welding
  • Adjustable sensitivity and delay control
  • The auto-darkening feature doesn't respond to flashing well
  • Adjustment knobs are hard to grab
  • The shade range is poor

Backyard's Rating:

Antra Wide Shade Range Welding Helmet (Green + Black)

Antra has the habit of making catchy-looking welding helmets. Another product that we included from it is this one. This Antra wide shade welding helmet looks like it follows a monster-energy-themed appearance.

This one works as well as the previous Antra welding helmet. However, we decided to put it on the lower rankings because its performance is only great for casual welding projects.

PROS AND CONS

  • Works perfectly as a beginner's welding helmet
  • Very easy to use
  • Trusty auto-darkening feature
  • Adjustment knobs are to hold if hands are gloved
  • Prone to a lot of flashes when used in Arc welding and MIG welding

Backyard's Rating:

Dekopro Solar Powered Welding Helmet

The Dekopro Solar Powered Welding Helmet is perfect for welding construction out in the open. The solar power feature makes the batteries longer. The large viewing panel protects your eyes against the harmful effects of radiation even if the power suddenly shuts down. Finally, the angular dependence feature works especially great in overhead and underhead welding positions.

We wish for the manufacturer to redesign this product a bit. Though it offers full head protection, wearing it feels a bit off. Moreover, the construction is very thin. This makes this welding mask very wobble a bit if you move your head suddenly. The joints that make up the frame need to be more efficient since they don't allow the user to effectively raise the helmet to the forehead when not in use.

PROS AND CONS

  • Very battery efficient
  • Protects the eyes against the harmful effects of radiation even if power is cut-off
  • Auto darkening filter
  • Good for plasma cutting
  • Solar cell + Lithium Battery Powered
  • Only great as an emergency replacement welding helmet and not us a permanent welding helmet for work
  • Has a flimsy construction

Backyard's Rating:

Instapark ADF Series Welding Helmet

The last item on our review is the Instapark ADF Series welding helmet. Though it doesn't work as well as the above products, this welding helmet deserves your attention because it comes with interior padding that feels very comfortable on the head.

The ratcheting headband also makes the comfort even better.

PROS AND CONS

  • A highly comfortable welding helmet
  • Powered by built in solar cells
  • Only great as a practice welding helmet or for quick welding projects

Conclusion

The best welding helmet under $100 should be versatile, very comfortable, and works well in any situation. We suggest that you try the first product in this review because it has all of these traits. The other helmets that we presented are equally good, and it depends on what your preferences are. Do you want a cheaper helmet, auto darkening helmet, or maybe one with adjustable headgear? However, they might turn out good or bad based on your preferences. With that being said, reread this review to fully grasp the pros and cons of each product that we mentioned.
